Patricia Beneke

Patty is a serious amateur oboe and English horn player, performing through the years with a variety of orchestras and groups in the Washington, D.C. area. Professionally, she has focused her legal career on energy and natural resources law and policy.
Patty has served as the North American Regional Director for the United Nations Environment Programme. Prior to that, she was confirmed by the U.S. Senate as the Assistant Secretary of the Interior for Water and Science during the Clinton Administration.
Patty also served as a Counsel to the U.S. Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources for nearly 20 years. Early in her career, she worked at the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the U.S. Department of Justice.
Patty teaches energy and natural resources law and policy on an adjunct basis at Georgetown Law School and the Georgetown McCourt School of Public Policy. She is a graduate of Iowa State University and Harvard Law School.
