Robert (“Bob”) J. Meyer, MD

Bob is a pulmonary physician who has spent a career largely in pharmaceutical/biotechnology related activities. He retired late 2024 from his role as Principal Consultant for Drug and Biological Products at Eliquent Life Sciences (nee Greenleaf Health), a boutique firm in Georgetown D.C. Prior to this role, he was on faculty at the University of Virginia in Medical School’s Dept. of Public Health contributing to the regulatory and translational efforts of UVA in medical devices and therapeutics. Prior to USA, he was Global Lead of Safety and Regulatory Sciences at Merck & Co. in Pennsylvania. He spent half of his career at FDA, with the majority of the time in leadership positions within the Center for Drug Evaluation and Research. He is an alumnus of Lehigh University (undergrad), University of Connecticut Medical School and did his pulmonary and critical care training at the University of Vermont. Bob and his wife, Denise, moved to Stoney Creek in 2024. They are loyal supporters of Wintergreen Music and the Charlottesville Symphony. Bob is an avid fan of music of many genres, and has played on folk/bluegrass bands over the years, and has served on a nonprofit board for the United States pharmacopeia and have been on three biotech boards, including his current membership with Chimerix.
