The Wintergreen Music Legacy Society

Wintergreen Music (formerly known as Wintergreen Performing Arts), founded in 1995, is an established arts organization with a rich past and a very promising future. In April 2012, the Board of Directors developed and approved the formation of a planned giving society, and the Wintergreen Music Legacy Society was first presented to the public during the 2012 Wintergreen Music Festival. With fiscal health and sustainability as a top strategic priority for Wintergreen Music, patrons are strongly encouraged to consider joining the Legacy Society to make a lasting impact for generations to come. Patrons willing to acknowledge that they have included WM in their estate planning are considered members of the Legacy Society. Membership can be anonymous, and the donor need not indicate the details of the gift.

Membership in the Society:

If you have included Wintergreen Music in your will or have made a life income gift (i.e. charitable gift annuities or charitable remainder trusts) indicating Wintergreen Music as the beneficiary, please let us know so that we may recognize you in the WM legacy Society. Membership is recognized on our website, in the annual Wintergreen Music Festival Program Book, and other documents where public acknowlegdement of the Society is appropriate. Members of the Society are invited to special members-only events, including the Circle Level Donor & Legacy Society Appreciation Brunch in July.

Charitable Giving Options: Learn more about options from our friends at Raymond James, including presentation materials they shared during the Festival.

We encourage our patrons to speak with their tax/investment advisors before becoming members of the Society. Over time, we plan to add specialized products to our planned giving investment options. We also intend to organize an occasional planned giving seminar with recognized experts as a service for our patrons.

If a member of the Society were to change his or her will, it would be the responsibility of the member to notify WM that the organization is no longer named as a beneficiary of the estate. This would necessitate removal of the individual’s name from the Society.

If you have included us in your estate planning or would like more information on planned giving and the WM Legacy Society, please contact Interim Executive Director, Corinne Horvath (chorvath@wintergreenmusic.org; 434.361.0541)
