Alvin Macasero, percussion

Alvin Macasero is a freelance musician based in Northern Virginia. He has performed with the Philadelphia Orchestra, Kennedy Center Opera House Orchestra, Richmond Symphony, New World Symphony, and the Washington Metropolitan Gamer Symphony Orchestra. He is also a percussion coach at Lake Braddock Secondary School.

Alvin holds a master’s degree from Temple University and bachelor’s degree from George Mason University. His primary teachers include Chris Deviney, Philip O’Banion, John Spirtas, John Kilkenny, and Kristopher Keeton. He is a recipient of the Alan Abel Percussion Scholarship and Steve Weiss Memorial Scholarship. Alvin attended the Sewanee Summer Music Festival, Chautauqua Music Festival, and U.S. Air Force Band Collegiate Symposium.

In his free time, Alvin enjoys exercising, reading, gaming, keeping up with hip-hop album releases, and spending time with his niece.
