Amy Nickler, double bass

Born and raised in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, Amy Nickler began her musical journey on the violin at age six before transitioning to the double bass at age twelve—a switch that sparked her lifelong passion for the instrument. She earned full scholarship degrees from Lynn University, Yale University, and the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, where she served as a Diversity Fellow with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra.

A respected performer and educator in South Florida, Amy currently serves as Adjunct Faculty at Florida Atlantic University as the bass professor. She is an active orchestral musician throughout the state, performing with ensembles including Nu Deco Ensemble, the Sarasota Orchestra, Palm Beach Symphony, South Florida Symphony, and The Florida Orchestra, among others.

Outside of her musical career, Amy enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and exploring new cultures.
