Sunday MountainTop Masterworks III: Nature’s Voice: Beethoven & Beyond
Join Artistic Director Erin Freeman as she guides the Wintergreen Festival Orchestra in a stunning celebration of nature and music! This concert features Jacob Wilder, principal horn, and Will Ferguson, tenor, performing Britten’s poignant Serenade for Tenor, Horn, and Strings, a collection of nocturnal works. Be prepared for some dramatic weather, as the centerpiece of the evening is Beethoven’s stormy Symphony No. 6 (the "Pastoral"). Don't miss the performances on both Saturday and Sunday, each offering a unique program. On Saturday, the Sing with Us! Chorus will present the world premiere of Alex Berko’s emotional work, Sacred Place. Then on Sunday, we’ll feature the 2025 LEAD Cooperative’s string students on Holst’s youthful and lively St. Paul’s Suite that highlights the versatility and virtuosity of the string ensemble.
Please note: This concert includes a pre-concert talk (beginning at 2:00 pm) with Artistic Director Erin Freeman to add color and perspective to your concert experience.
