Nicoletta Moss

Nicoletta Moss is a conductor known for bringing a passionate presence, commitment to inclusivity, and support of lifelong musicianship both on and off the podium. Nicoletta is a doctoral candidate at the University of Kentucky, where she serves as the director of Philharmonia (campus orchestra), conductor of New Horizons Band & Orchestra, and assistant conductor of Symphony Orchestra. Launched in 2025, Nicoletta also leads the UK Medical Orchestra, a new initiative for medical students, university faculty and staff, and health professionals in the Lexington community.

Previously, Nicoletta held positions in the Greater Washington, D.C. Area as music director of the Takoma Mandoleers mandolin-guitar orchestra, faculty at Levine Music at The Music Center at Strathmore, and teaching artist in the Alexandria Symphony Orchestra’s El Sistema-inspired Sympatico program. Nicoletta has been invited to conduct orchestras across the country and internationally, including the Wintergreen Music Festival, Omaha Symphony, Cleveland Pops Orchestra, Denver Philharmonic, Athens Philharmonia Orchestra, Symphony Tacoma/Cascade Conducting Orchestra, and musicians from the Atlanta Symphony. 



Nicoletta earned a Master of Music in conducting from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and Bachelor of Music in music education from James Madison University. Nicoletta is a founder of the National Association of Medical Orchestras and member of the American String Teachers Association, College Orchestra Directors Association, College Music Society, and Classical Mandolin Society of America.

Nicoletta is excited to return to the Wintergreen Music Festival in this new role, having spent two previous summers on the mountain in 2019 and 2025!
