Therese West is currently the acting Principal Second Violin of the Fort Wayne Philharmonic and is originally from Pittsburgh. She earned her Master’s degree from Carnegie Mellon University, studying with Andres Cárdenes and Cyrus Forough. She completed her undergraduate studies at Baldwin Wallace University under Dr. Sam Rotberg and Lembi Veskimets. She also studied privately with David Kim, concertmaster of the Philadelphia Orchestra, and began her early training in Pittsburgh with Christopher Wu of the Pittsburgh Symphony.Therese is a former member of the Sarasota Opera Orchestra for the 2024 season and has spent the past two summers as a member of the Britt Music Festival Orchestra in Jacksonville, Oregon. She has additionally performed with the Virginia Symphony, North Carolina Symphony, Sarasota Orchestra, The Florida Orchestra, Naples Philharmonic, Buffalo Philharmonic and Charleston Symphony.
