Glenn Sewell
Manager of Patron Relations & Education, Wintergreen Music
Glenn Sewell brings over 17 years of arts management experience to Wintergreen Music, with roles spanning development, marketing, and education. His career includes positions at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and, most recently, at Levine Music in Washington, DC.
At Levine, Glenn served as the Director of Music Education for Adults, leading the revitalization of the adult education program. Over his nine-year tenure, adult student enrollment and participation grew by 40% through the creation of new education, performance, and social opportunities, ensuring that adult learners felt welcomed, valued, and part of a vibrant community. He also held roles as Interim Director of Community Partnerships, Director of Group Instruction, and supervisor of the Chamber Music, Music Theory, Music Therapy, and Early Childhood departments.
Before Levine, Glenn worked in fundraising and marketing at the Kennedy Center. As Assistant Manager of Membership, he was responsible for raising $3.1 million annually through small-dollar gifts, driving consistent member growth that culminated in a total of 28,000 members. In the marketing department, he served as the lead marketer for the National Symphony Orchestra, where he spearheaded successful subscriber retention initiatives such as Surprise and Delight, a program that welcomed new NSO subscribers with personalized thank-you gifts at their seats. He also led marketing efforts for the Kennedy Center’s Jazz and Chamber Music programs.
Glenn holds a Bachelor’s in Music Education from the University of Southern Mississippi and a Master’s in Percussion Performance from the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University - Bloomington. Based in Alexandria, VA, he maintains an active freelance percussion career, performing with the Arlington Philharmonic and Paragon Philharmonia. He enjoys running, biking, Indiana University basketball, and spending as much time as possible with his wife, Jenny, and their 9-year-old daughter, Ella.
