Milene Rossato Moreira, violin
A native of Brazil, violinist Milene Moreira has a diverse and multifaceted musical background. It has taken her across the globe as a chamber musician, orchestral musician, teacher and soloist. In Brazil as a young violinist she won many competitions and awards including a full scholarship from DAAD to study in Germany where she received her Arts Diploma, and a Fullbright Scholarship to finish her Masters degree at Carnegie Mellon University in the United States. Her principal mentors are Marcello Guerchfeld (Brazil), Rainer Kussmaul and Hansheinz Schneeberger (Germany), and in the United States, Andres Cardenes, Katie Lansdale, and Philip Setzer.
Since 2003, Mrs. Moreira moved to Florida where she is member of The Sarasota Orchestra and Sarasota Opera. During the summers she performs at The Wintergreen Music Festival in Virginia and has been regularly invited to give master classes and perform with her husband, Violist Matthew Pegis at the Federal University in Santa Maria and Porto Alegre in Brazil.
